You are looking for an independent, quantified comparison between two hosting providers, on a workload similar to yours. You cannot find one.
That is not because nobody has run the test.
What the contract you accepted says
The terms of service of one of the leading hosting providers state, in clause 1.8, that any publication of a comparative performance test must be disclosed to the vendor, together with enough detail to replicate it.
Read the mechanics. The contract does not stop you from measuring. It requires you, if you publish, to give the measured vendor everything needed to redo your test and contest it.
No consulting firm publishes under these conditions. No trade outlet does either. That is why the comparison you are looking for does not exist, and that is information about the market, not about the products’ performance.
What you can still do
Measure for yourself, without publishing. Nothing in the clause prevents an internal test whose result stays within your company and your negotiations. It is even the only figure that counts, since it is based on your workload rather than a lab workload.
Have a third party measure it under a non-disclosure agreement. The report belongs to you, it is not published, and it can be raised in a commercial discussion.
Ask the vendor for its own figures on your workload, in writing. A written answer is binding. A sales demo is not.
Why it matters when you sign
These clauses are almost never negotiated for a company of 20 to 200 people, and it would be dishonest to tell you otherwise. What you can do is stop basing a hosting decision on public comparisons whose absence is organized by contract.
The quote, the invoice, and your own measurement remain available. They are enough.
The sentence to remember
The absence of a public comparison is not a market vacuum. It is a clause.
